Kazimierz (Liverpool edit)
As promised, I’ve curated the perfect day out to replicate an afternoon in the Kazimierz. If it didn’t come across in my writing, I absolute adore the Kazimierz, and every now and then I come across an place that just gives off those same gorgeously groovy vibes. If you can’t make it to Krakow, but you want have a vodka based day of whimsy, go and say hello to the gaffs I’ve written to tell you about today. If you missed my thoughts on that gorgeous Polish neighbourhood, you can find them here.
Ania (Garston)
What do Garston and the Kazimierz have in common? I’ve lived in both, cheap ciggies everywhere, and most importantly the locals don’t fuck around when it comes to butties (yours truly included). I’m absolutely buzzin’ to introduce you to my newest haunt! An unnasuming Polish mini-mart in Garston Village with the delicatessen of your dreams in the back of it it. Dare I say a hidden gem? Fuck it, I dare. Go in and ask for a Big Boy: Cheese, ham, mayo and salad all lovingly wedged in to the pillowiest bread roll ever known to mankind. It might not sound like much but I promise you it will be the best £3 you’ll spend all week. I had to go and take my Mounjarno dose half way through this write up to take the edge of, it’s that serious. You’ll find them on St Mary’s Road, in my dreams and on facebook here. Waddle to the bus stop, time to crack on with the Kazimier Mystery Tour (laughed at this then cringed, but then laughed again).
Black Cat (Rose Lane)
Whenever I spy a bottle of Zubrowka tucked away in the arsenal of spirits that a quirky independent gaff has, I’m an immediate fan. Order yourself a tatanka and get a spot in their cute lil’ beer garden while you sip. The Kazmierz would be nothing without it’s fiercly unique indie bars, and if it weren’t for the 80 going past, you’d simply assume you were in one of them. After you follow them here get a mad craft beer from their impressively well stocked fridge before you stroll up to our next stop (punks not dead, make a note of that).
A Slower Space (Penny Lane)
Saunter up to Penny Lane to get yourself a souvenier for your day from the most Kazimierz adjacent shop in the south end. The trinket shops on Josefa Street always bring a massive involuntary smile to my face, and i’ve found that same smile comes across my face when I step into this darling shop. Put some whimsy back in to your day, and treat your bad self to a coffee here too before you get back on the bus. Alexa: Play this must be the place. My friend: give them a follow for painfully chic updates here.
Blag Zabka (Smithdown)
Just funny, isn’t it? A convience store with a trove full of snacks and soft drinks. We’re heading to town now anyway for the last stop, might aswell get off the 86 and get some snacks for the last bar. You’re gonna need a handful of crisps to go with your skinful of ale, so why not get them here? Let me know what you get when you get to….

Kazimier Gardens (Town)
I mean, it’s literally in the name - what more can I say? If bars were twinned in the same way that cities are - this place would be paired up with Mleczaria, no question about it. A tucked away spot that feels like sanctuary on a blazing hot day in town. Grab your friends, or simply make some in the queue and drink the night away to the sounds of impressively curated tunes and the glorious smells even better street food that’s on offer. Dzięki, and long live the Kaz.

So that’s it I think, my friend. I can’t wait to write to you again soon with another Liverpool edit. In the meantime, what did you think of these recommendations? How many butties did you eat, what coffee did you get, and how many friends did you make?
Speak soon lads
